The person was seen to be hovering around the till area immediately adjacent to where the handbag had been deposited. No other people were recorded in the shop who had visited the side of the till area at the time of the man's visit, and at the time of the bag's theft. The bag was noted to be present at about 5.10pm, but then was missing at about 5.20 pm. These photos were timed at about 5.15pm.

Note that the man initally approached the till area with his coat on, but then removed it while moving around the shop, again towards the till area. It is assumed that he removed his coat to conceal the fact that he was about to steal the bag and remove it from the shop, with the bag concealed under his arm.
